Daredevil.

Matthew Murdock is Daredevil—a vigilante who primarily patrols Hell's Kitchen, a fittingly named neighborhood located in lower Manhattan. A human mutate, he fights with enhanced senses, abilities he gained due to an accident in his youth involving a radioactive isotope—an accident which left him blind.

Matt has always had a strong sense of justice, and a very particular understanding of right and wrong. It was because of this that at a young age he decided he wanted to become a lawyer—someone who could uphold the law and protect those who couldn't protect themselves.

The older he got, though, the more life begun to throw at him, but he didn't reach his breaking point until the murder of his father, Jack. At that point, his deep-seated rage and innate need to solve his problems with violence took over, leading to him systematically hunting down all the men involved in killing his father.

Depending on which comic run you read, this means he either kills them outright, or beats them into agreeing to testify—either way, it begins to lead him down a messy, violent road of no return.

Matthew Murdock is Daredevil—vigilante, lawyer, hero—but he's also just... Matt Murdock.
